les cheveux de ma mere
today is my mother’s birthday. she is as many years older than me as the age she was when i was born. happy birthday, mom.
this weekend, i’m going to go to detroit to visit with my family, as my mother, father, and brother’s birthdays are all in the next two weeks. on saturday, my mom is going to get a complete hair makeover. her haircut has pretty much been the same since i was a kid, with small variations. but she’s going to go in and tell them to do whatever they want. i’m excited to see what happens. and i’ll see it first hand, as i will be there getting my hair cut, also. i think this will be the first time since i was about 15 that i will step foot in a salon. in some ways, i am dreading it (ha ha. yes, i used to have dreadlocks for a while, although, my friend skateboard skot used to call them elvenlocks. he had some obscure historical reason, but he usually talked right over my head about that kind of thing so i can’t remember what it was), but i’m looking forward to hanging out with my mom.
