This Trade and Tourism Council for India was created using India’s rich culture and setting it into the UBS Tower in Chicago. The concept was taken from the Lotus Flower, India’s national flower, a sacred symbol to the people of India seen in its art, literature, and architecture. The floorplan, curved walls, and windows took the organic shape of the roots, lily pads, and bud of the Lotus Flower. The materials reflected India’s exports by using Bamboo flooring and steel trim (India is the second largest producer of Bamboo and is one of the largest in the production of steel. The color palette was taken from a quote about the fashion of India by the 20th Century Arbiter of Style and Grace… “Pink is the Navy Blue of India” - Diana Vreeland
