and there you should retire anyway
where the superego has at long last
been gagged and silenced ad infinitum

critique from your drunken mouth
is not to be proofread, second-guessed
from any waiting podium or pulpit

…oh, I’ve had more than I can stand
of convention, proprieties, and wisdom
in your trench tonight, serpentine musings

I’ll be at the salon as a fool
as an invalid to you
