Talking about love and science
As a parallax, as a divorce
Apart from one another

Oh you are so dramatic then
Unappealing, in your eloquence
Paternal, didactic, donnish, and lame
All in excess and annihilation
Everyday, repeat, everyday
Nothing practical or relevant
Can emerge from elegy or hyperbole

I will sit here with you all night
If it takes a conversation to elicit
Our golden wishes and words
To coalesce with some better nature
When I am useful to you and them
I could be finally more than myself

critique from your drunken mouth
is not to be proofread, second-guessed
from any waiting podium or pulpit

of convention, proprieties, and wisdom
in your trench tonight, serpentine musings
